Empowering Future Arborists Together
Some of the best have assemble to teaching students about trees. Why? Well, trees are essential to life on Earth, and understanding their role can help students appreciate the environment. By learning about trees, students also can grasp how they contribute to the ecosystem, from producing oxygen to supporting wildlife. This knowledge fosters a sense of responsibility toward conservation and environmental stewardship.

Hands-On Learning
Hands-on training provides high school students with practical experience in real-world settings, helping them develop skills that go beyond the classroom. By engaging in activities such as internships, apprenticeships, or vocational programs, students can explore potential careers, build confidence, and gain a better understanding of what a job involves. This type of training not only boosts technical abilities but also enhances problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills, all of which are valuable in any career. Ultimately, hands-on experience helps students make more informed decisions about their future and gives them a competitive edge in the job market.

Career Exploration Circle
Career exploration is an important step for high school students to take as they begin to think about their future. By exploring different fields and learning about various jobs, students can identify their interests, strengths, and potential career paths. This process helps them make informed decisions about their education, internships, and extracurricular activities, setting the stage for a successful career. Additionally, exploring careers early allows students to gain insight into the skills and qualifications required, making it easier to plan for the future and set realistic goals.

Engagement
Since 2022, District students have had access to outdoor career learning experiences, from the creation of YACE in 2024, to the Penn State University, Tree Climbing School in 2023-24, to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education Advanced Internship Program 2022-25, the mission has been clear.

As a sophomore, learning all that trees do for us and what they need to survive was an eye-opening experience, inspiring me to pursue a career in tree care after high school.
